While loved ones are being cared for at the Spitex daycare centers in Allschwil and Binningen, family members are often confronted with many questions, fears, and worries. But they do not need to face them alone during these challenging times. Together with the Spitex daycare centers, the support associations regularly organize discussion groups for family members, offering them the opportunity to connect with others in similar situations.

 

Twice a month, a safe space is created where family members can share their experiences, learn from each other, and take a break over cup of coffee. The staff of the Spitex daycare centers attend these discussion groups, and provide support and guidance should any problems or challenges arise.

 

Why is this exchange so important?

Together we are stronger: Dialogue with others in similar circumstances creates a community where everyone feels supported and understood. One does not have to face ones challenges alone.

 

A problem shared is a problem halved: Talking about one's worries and fears often helps to take the weight off one's shoulders. Other participants may offer valuable tips and support.

 

Gain new perspectives: Through the exchange, they receive new ideas and approaches on how to better manage everyday life. They hear about the experiences of others and can use them for themselves.

 

Emotional relief: An open conversation in a trusting atmosphere can be very relieving. It's okay to speak openly, cry, laugh, and encourage one another.
